Born April 18th 1986, Sara Melki’s artistic inclinations started early as she grew up in the aesthetic surrounding of a family business specialized in home furniture and decoration.

In 2004, she joins the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) to improve her creative skills. From sculpture to photography, Sara Melki embraces it all. Her thirst and passion for arts naturally lead her to an internship in a fashion workshop which proves to be a real trigger. In 2008, she moves to Paris for four years to attend the prestigious Studio Berçot, a fashion design school that has trained many gifted designers such as Isabel Marant or Martine Sitbon.

To complete her academic learning, Sara Melki further develops her knowledge through various internships in major fashion houses. One of which in Malhia Kent’s workshops, Chanel’s exclusive weavers. There, she masters the discipline and know- how of French weaving. But it is in New York, at the famous Proenza Schouler, that she is able to sharpen her urban spirit style and her smart use of ‘mix and match’. In April 2012, she returns to Beirut, launches her first collection and opens her showroom in ‘Espace M’, a concept store, located in Horch Tabet, just a few minutes away from the heart of the capital. Sara Melki enjoys style mixing...

Her ‘mix and match’ in fabrics, prints and cuts has become her trademark and constantly refers to her influences... First of all her passion for exotic journeys... From China to India through Africa she nourishes her imagination with colored images and ethnic graphics that she transposes in her creations.

Modern art is also a major source of inspiration: “ Basquiat, Miro, Calder ... to name a few, are major references for me, they have ” inspired me and deeply influence my tastes.

Sara Melki creates fashion for the cosmopolitan, modern woman seeking strong yet feminine silhouettes with exclusive and trendy designs.

“ I like to create clothing for active, urban women, who pay constant attention to “ their outfits despite the frantic pace of modern life. ”

Shorts are her favorites. Available in several styles, they remain a staple of every collection. The young designer has tackled the high-end ready-to-wear segment and since the beginning brought special care to material and perfect finishing.

With this obsession in mind, Sara Melki selects only the best suppliers, among which are Chanel’s exclusive weavers whose luxury materials are incorporated in almost all of her designs.

“ I take real pleasure working with refined fabrics, I appreciate and admire the unique know-how in weaving techniques, everything is sharp, and meticulous. ”

Her quest for quality doesn’t end here... what gives each outfit its edge, is the couture details like the quilted leathers mixed with refined laces but also the collection of accessories she also designs.
